Embrace yourself, become a thousand suns.
May this deck become a warm medium, enabling you to listen to your inner wisdom and see the light that originally belongs to you.
"Uno with the Sun Tarot" is the first tarot deck we created together. We connected with Tarot due to the confusion after the pandemic ended and graduation from university, carrying thoughts on the meaning of a creative life, completing the design of the entire healing tarot deck bit by bit.

"One of the story inspirations for 'Uno' stems from an ancient Chinese mythological motif: the Golden Crow carrying the sun." It is said in "Classic of Mountains and Seas · Great Wilderness East Classic": "Above Tang Valley stands the Fumu Tree; one day arrives, one day emerges, all carried by the crow." Legend has it that the reason the sun can rise in the east and set in the west, bringing light, energy, and blessings to people every day, is because three-legged crows carry the sun around. Later, "Golden Crow" also became another name for the sun.
At the Chengdu Jinsha Site Museum, I once saw an exhibition board displaying sun and divine bird totems derived from sun worship from all over the world. Human ancestors of different races unconsciously associated the sun, which spreads light and heat, with birds capable of flying in the sky and standing shoulder-to-shoulder with the sun, endowing the latter with a sacred status.
How much did we once long to grow wings and freely go to where the light resides? While feeling this collective wish condensed in the totem, I also thought that in reality from ancient times to now, those who daily carry the sun like the Golden Crow, work hard, and illuminate life and the path ahead are not gods, but concrete, humble ordinary people—we ourselves.
When creating the character "Uno", it was the first year the pandemic was declared over. Amidst turmoil and change, emotions of confusion and unease were often companions. I began researching esoteric studies including Tarot and Astrology, which I had been interested in before, only to find that "fortune-telling" might be the deepest misunderstanding of them. Although in a rapidly changing society, metaphysics has become an emergency method for coping with anxiety, anxiety will still constantly arise because "uncertainty" cannot be truly eliminated. After all, the maximum range we can observe is nothing more than a small corner of the universe. So, in a life without standard answers and without "perfect spoilers," how do we build the courage to face everything? Fortunately, the true wisdom of "metaphysics" is not the persistent pursuit of some limited answer, but allowing us to see ourselves deeper through them, and even see more others beyond ourselves more deeply.
As the saying goes, "Seeing is the best healing." Interestingly, in astrology, the Sun also represents eyes or vision. In our spiritual world, the journey of seeing oneself is sometimes like a polar night region experiencing a long night, finally welcoming the dawn. When all things can be illuminated by light, when deep connections, care, and tolerance are established with the true self, only then can the frozen soil sprout new buds, and the confusion and contradictions in the heart may transform into stronger, creative power.
Thus, I wanted to create my own tarot deck, using this tool of the Subconscious to discuss our relationship with our own "creativity."
Individual Consciousness and Subconscious play key roles in fate. No matter how skilled one is at interpreting different forms of "life manuals," ultimately, the protagonist of fate who writes and experiences the complete life journey is oneself, not others. From this perspective, creativity is not the specialty of artists or inventors, because to some extent, our lives, our stories, and even our self-awareness are our creations. We are the creators of our own lives; each of us inherently has the ability to create a "world."
During the turning point growth period of life, we all hope to entrust a simple, plain, upward energy in these cards, a power of accepting oneself, believing in oneself, and thereby embracing the real world. We have all projected part of ourselves onto the protagonist "Uno"; believe me, you who use this deck are the same.
Therefore, the name "Uno" is not only because the protagonist has the image of a little crow, but also because it implies "One"—in Taoist culture, "One" is the beginning of all phenomena, the symbol of birth and creation. And in "Uno," we give this name the meanings of "Self, Beginning, Birth, Start, Existence." And "Sun" symbolizes willpower, vitality, and creativity, representing the power to illuminate the self; it is also the guiding light of "The Hero's Journey."
We live in an era deconstructing the sun. Everyone knows there is nothing new under the sun, and it is easier than ever to see the shadows under the sun. But perhaps precisely for this reason, we desire to understand the meaning of life more than ever, and need to ignite the sun within our hearts more than ever.
