Heritage Tarot
Number of Cards: 78
Recommended: Upright and Reversed
In Western Tarot, we have grown accustomed to seeking magic and shortcuts. But in Heritage Tarot, there are no easy answers.
Look closely, and behind every card stands an ordinary person with an extraordinary story—a Yangge performer balancing on stilts in northern Shaanxi, a puppeteer in Quanzhou bringing figures to life with nimble fingers, an embroiderer in Suzhou quietly threading her needle. Here, there are no magic wands, only carving knives and stilts.
When living intangible cultural heritage meets Tarot, a mirror to the inner self, our intention is not to simply piece together cultural symbols, but to discover the profound resonance between ancient traditions and timeless wisdom. We journey into the stories behind these crafts, hoping to call back the wisdom that time has nearly forgotten.
This is the meaning behind the original Chinese name, Jing Hua Luo Ying (镜花螺影):
Mirror — to reflect and reveal.
Flower — to bloom and flourish.
Conch — to hear the echoes of time.
Shadow — to see your true self.
We do not promise to hand you the answers to your destiny. Instead, we hope to become a mirror, accompanying you through the darkness until you discover the light growing within yourself.
Look—the Fool has already found his balance on stilts in the morning light.
Open the deck, and follow him.
— May you find your true self reflected in the fleeting beauty of flowers in a mirror and the moon upon water.
